Event Review System

The LSASA Event Review System provides a structured process for documenting laser installations before operation.

Each submission records how an installation is intended to operate so that organisers, venues and operators share the same understanding prior to the event.

This process supports clear planning and communication before laser systems are activated.

Purpose

The purpose of the Event Review System is to support the safe use of laser systems by ensuring that installations are defined, documented, and assessed in a structured and consistent manner before any system is activated.

By capturing key aspects of an installation in advance, the review process identifies potential risks early, reduces uncertainty during event preparation, and supports safe, controlled, and predictable operation during live events.

How the Review Process Works

2. Review

LSASA reviews the provided information to understand how the installation is intended to operate.

Outcome Issued

A documented outcome is issued describing the installation as planned.

The review process is based on the information provided and supports planning before the event takes place.

Review Outcomes

After review, a documented outcome is issued describing whether the installation demonstrates planned and controlled operation based on the information provided.

Additional information or adjustments may be requested if required to properly understand the installation.

The outcome reflects the described configuration and supports communication between all parties involved.

Reference Numbers

Each submission is assigned an LSASA reference number.

This reference identifies the reviewed installation and can be used when communicating with venues, organisers and other stakeholders.

The reference confirms that the installation has been described and considered prior to operation.

Role of the Review

The LSASA review process does not change who operates the laser system.

The operator remains responsible for the installation and its behaviour during the event.

The purpose of the review is to support structured planning and communication before operation begins.
